How to Celebrate National Sportsmanship Day
1
Coordinate a friendly sports match
One of the best ways to celebrate is by bringing friends, family, or community members together for a friendly game of football, baseball, or any other sport. This allows everyone to put their sportsmanship to the test and enjoy the thrill of the game, no matter the outcome.
2
Host a sports trivia night
Showcase the importance of knowing not just the rules of the game, but its history and values as well. This can be done through a fun and engaging sports trivia night. Winners should be rewarded not just for their knowledge but also for their fair play and respect towards others.
3
Organize a sportsmanship workshop
Great sportsmen and sportswomen are not born, they're made. Use National Sportsmanship Day as an opportunity to run a workshop on good sportsmanship, teaching the participants about fair play, respect for opponents and integrity within the game.
4
Dedicate the day to learning new sports
Taking up a new sport is a great chance to learn new skills, meet new people, and of course improve your sportsmanship. On National Sportsmanship Day, why not encourage everyone to try something new? Like judo, fencing or table tennis - the options are endless!
5
Promote positive behaviour on social media
National Sportsmanship Day isn't just about sports. It's also about promoting positive behaviour in general. Encourage your friends, peers, and team mates to share their best instances of good sportsmanship on their social media platforms. This can help inspire others to be better sportsmen and sportswomen.
Why National Sportsmanship Day is Important
