March 2nd also denotes the spirit of 'Texanism,' which was exemplified at the Alamo in San Antonio when 187 people chose to give their lives protecting protected their vision of freedom. This spirit is found in each Texan today who takes to heart the state motto, "Friendship" and stands up proudly for what they believe in.
